General Hospital spoilers reveal Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) isn’t too proud to lean on family when she needs support — as long as that family isn’t her ex-husband, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

Carly is trying not to hold it against Sonny that he failed to protect Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and knows it wasn’t intentional, her feelings are still a bit too raw to deal with him right now.

She is adamant that they get to the bottom of whoever was behind the attack on Drew — and ideally before he has to go back to Pentonville. Will Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) come through for her once again?

It’s undeniable that the attack on Drew nearly claimed his life. When he heads back to Pentonville, he’s not going to be stronger after having undergone such a beating — followed by a life-saving surgery.

Still, he will remain at risk of being attacked again, and the next time, his attackers might be successful. Carly is desperate to make sure that whoever did this to Drew pays for it — and won’t be in his orbit any longer.

But how fast can Michael work to uncover the truth that even Sonny hasn’t been able to furnish?

GH Spoilers Hint Buying Time Isn’t Easy

The best chance Drew has of circumventing another attack is by not going back to Pentonville. With the warden seemingly on his side, there may be a way to angle things in his defense and paint a picture that he needs more protection.

But since she’s not really on his side, will efforts to keep him protected at Pentonville really suffice as she turns the other cheek? Carly is no novice when it comes to this kind of underhanded play that has always lingered around Sonny.

Not willing to let Drew pay for her crimes or her ex’s, she just may persuade Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) to help extend Drew’s stay at GH for as long as possible. B

ut can she get away with it without compromising herself in her first days back on the job?

Carly already pulled Michael back into the darkness when she begged him not to abandon his covert spy operation with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer). He was ready to throw in the towel and walk away from seeking vengeance on his father.

Instead, Carly pleaded with him to seek protection for him instead. Still, working behind Sonny’s back isn’t ideal if he ever finds out.

This time around, she’s asking Michael to assist her in figuring out how to protect Drew by taking down Judge Kim (Kurt Yue). Will Michael risk damaging his own credibility by trudging into murky waters to unearth the judge’s secrets?
