Veronica Redd (Mamie Johnson) begins airing at the end of September. The former Abbott Family housekeeper was last seen in March.

Mamie has played in some of the show’s most significant storylines, and not just as a backdrop to the Abbott family drama.

She is the great-aunt of Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), Devon Winters (Bryton James), and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) which could be a big clue as to why she returns to town.

Then again she might have to do some mopping up at the Abbott Mansion considering how fraught things have gotten between the late John Abbott’s (Jerry Douglas) kids.

And last, but certainly not least, Hayley Erin (former Kiki Jerome, General Hospital) is returning to the CBS soap. In the past, she played the role of Abby Newman, a part now played by Melissa Ordway.

This time around Erin will play Claire Grace, a newbie who is hired at Newman Media. The character debuts this autumn. It looks like the writers are gung-ho about staying focused on NE, and plan to milk all the dramarama they can from this plotline.
