The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers document that Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) thought herself into a corner.
The self-imposed pressure and a doomsday outlook caused Steffy to feel compelled to leave her husband alone in Los Angeles, California.
Choosing to run away from California and the United States goes against the persona that Steffy projects.
She is the tough one in her family, with a mental makeup that takes no prisoners.
So, do devoted fans feel it is believable that Steffy is running away from Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) and leaving John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) to face her alone?
Readers of this site know that Wood and her husband had their fourth child and fourth son in late August.
The actor is on maternity leave, which necessitates the need for her character to make a dramatic decision.
Viewers understand that soap operas record episodes weeks in advance and actors who are taking breaks from the cast can record advanced scenes.
Doing so allows a character to remain part of the show through seeming location shots, video chats, and the like.
But it is fair to ask if Steffy, whose parents and grandparents are role models for endurance, would reasonably choose to leave her husband and home because of Sheila.
Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) did not lose Eric Forrester (John McCook) to Sheila. Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) became Eric’s wife because his decades-long marriage to Stephanie fell apart in 1990.
But Sheila became the bane of the Forrester family when she crossed over to B&B from The Young and the Restless in 1992.
By 1993, the woman Eric hired to work for Forrester Creations became his wife.
If Stephanie were still alive, she would not allow her granddaughter to leave the country due to being afraid of Sheila.
Steffy is often compared to Stephanie, beyond the shared first name.
Steffy took the children up the California coast during one of Wood’s previous maternity leaves.
Current circumstances do not make that type of carefree decision possible.
Having Steffy tells Finn that he could not go with her and the children to Europe because Sheila would find them is a stretch.
Yes, she is an infamous villain who manages to accomplish the impossible.
So, it is reasonable for Steffy to say that Sheila could have tracked them down. But the need to break from Finn only happened because the murder charge against Sheila was thrown out by Judge Evan Scott (Michael Corbett).
That is the origin plot point that remains highly debatable on B&B.
