Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) believed he was doing the right thing when he learned that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) was alive and he chose not to tell Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier). He didn’t want her to get her hopes up about her mother before they could find her. What if Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) was wrong about his information?

Well, now he knows that Summer has known for weeks about Phyllis, and Phyllis actually contacted Summer first and not Daniel. That means all that time Summer pushed for Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) to be behind bars, she knew that Diane didn’t commit a crime at all. So, not only did Summer lie to him. She was willing to let his mother go to jail for no reason because she knew no murder had been committed.

Kyle finally found Daniel, Summer, and Phyllis in a room at The Athletic Club and told Summer exactly how livid he was at her.

Kyle doesn’t even want to go home after learning the truth and instead, he heads right to the bar to drown his sorrows in booze. That’s when he runs into Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) and she lets it be known that he can drown his sorrows in her, as well.

This is the second extended conversation they have after the big celebration when Phyllis lost her mind. He is intrigued by her but not sure if he should do anything about it.

“Kyle has a habit of visiting his bad boy side and not making the best decisions,” Head Writer Josh Griffith said in the June 19, 2023, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “He’s smart enough to know that Audra could be trouble, but can’t stop himself from making questionable decisions.”

He does decide to leave for now, but will it last?
