General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest Molly Lansing Davis (Holiday Mia Kriegel) is facing a difficult reality that she never anticipated. Being diagnosed with endometriosis has left her questioning if she will ever be able to have children with her partner, T.J. Ashford (Tajh Bellow). It’s clear that Molly is struggling to come to terms with her new reality. While T.J. wants to offer reassurance that this doesn’t have to be the end of their journey toward parenthood, Molly isn’t ready to look beyond the loss she’s currently feeling. Eventually, though, she will be ready to explore their options. The question is: will they be able to come together on what they both want as their alternative to traditional family planning?
Molly and T.J.’s sudden desire to start a family has been brought to a halt, and it’s overwhelming. Molly feels like a failure, and totally hopeless as to what the future holds. When those clouds lift, she might be motivated to jump right into action figuring out what they can do to become parents. That drive might be the very thing that ends up overwhelming T.J., who might realize Molly thinks she can have the best of both worlds by having someone else carry their baby while she still works at the same pace she always has. Will T.J.’s desire for her to be more focused on slowing down at work in preparation for motherhood be a dealbreaker for Molly, who can’t bring herself to hyper-focus on someone else having her child?
Molly might feel rather relegated to a couple of choices when it comes to surrogacy. T.J. would probably be open to a complete stranger carrying their child, and he might even argue that it would keep the waters less muddied and offer them the opportunity to focus on the end result more so than micromanaging the pregnancy. If one of Molly’s sisters carries the baby for them — as Molly will be hoping — it could create some new issues in the family dynamic. Furthermore, choosing between sisters would be tough. Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) already had trouble getting pregnant herself in the past, and she had a stillborn daughter years ago. Kristina Corinthos Davis (Kate Mansi) probably is the better bet on that front, but that doesn’t mean T.J. is going to be comfortable with Krissy carrying their child, given her history. This could drive a wedge between Molly and T.J.
Adopting a child is a serious decision, especially for Molly and T.J., who will have already experienced hardship when it comes to fertility. For T.J. and Molly, navigating this possibility may be tricky as they grapple with the emotional weight of the alternative — a surrogate. However, Molly could end up going at this alone, wanting a child more than T.J. does if the only path to it that she’ll agree to be having Kristina carry their baby. If fertility woes bring an end to this domestic partnership, Molly just might pursue motherhood on her own via adoption. Would T.J. come to regret walking away? Only time will tell.
