General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) is about to stumble upon a truth bomb that never should have existed. Hoping to help pluck Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) from Esme’s clutches, Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) crafted some evidence that points the finger of blame directly at the conniving Chamberlain offspring. But trouble will start brewing when Esme finds the evidence that Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) told his girlfriend, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), he was getting rid of. Not only will Spencer have to answer to his lady love, but he won’t be prepared for the new light he’ll see Esme in when he realizes she’s been telling the truth.
It didn’t take Spencer long to put the pieces of this puzzle together. What his uncle left him was a trump card, but his excitement dwindled rapidly when he realized what he was really holding in his hands — manufactured evidence. That’s not how Spencer wants to play this game with the police. How would he even explain how he came into possession of it? If anyone knew Victor was behind it, that would most certainly cast immediate doubt upon it. If Spencer is going to use this evidence in any capacity, it’ll have to be in a way that the PCPD never has to know about.
Spencer’s plan: let Esme find the evidence. Assuming she’s been playing everyone this entire time, Spencer thinks if he throws the evidence in her direction, Esme might be quick to deny her involvement in writing that letter. Her insistence that she didn’t write it and has never seen it before could serve as proof that she trusts her own memory — something she’s been claiming she had no recollection of for months now. But that may not be what happens. Instead, Esme could take the letter at face value, and assume she did write it. It may leave her riddled with guilt and convinced that she actually committed all of the crimes alleged against her. Will she have the nerve to turn herself in, or will Spencer’s Plan B be to leverage the evidence against her in turn for taking custody of his baby brother?
Spencer might initially think he’s hit the jackpot. Even though things won’t go the way he expected, the outcome could leave him with even leverage against Esme to get her to willingly hand over her son to Spencer. But is that really what he wants anymore?
He’s been so blind by his own selfish interests all of this time that he didn’t take the time to realize how much Esme has changed. Watching her grieve the loss of who she thought she was trying to be is going to force Spencer to see Esme in a new light — and he just might find himself liking the mother of his brother more than he cares to admit. Does he really want Ace to grow up the way he did, without his mom? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
