Yolanda was originally played by Lawson during Devon’s early years in GC. She had a hard life, experienced illegal drug issues, and worked to overcome them.

The character Lawson portrayed was eventually recast. Daytime veteran Debbi Morgan (Yolanda, Harmony) was part of the show when this character changed her name to Harmony as part of a redemption storyline.

Devon has not often referenced his biological parents, Harmony and Tucker in recent years. Both characters were off-screen until Tucker was recast in the form of daytime veteran Trevor St. John.

It would be great if Devon’s biological mother remains part of the show. That would deepen this part of the storyline. Of course, it would also be great if his adoptive mother, Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell), were found alive and returned to GC. But that is a matter to consider on another day.

Tucker is lonely. He longs to be connected with his son and grandson, Dominic Newman Abbott Winters Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware).

Reestablishing a relationship with Devon is not easy because of the many years Tucker spent away from GC as he attempted to reset his life. The often-cited race car accident impacted his psyche and spurred a renewal.

Ashley’s recent offer, which allowed Tucker to move into the Abbott mansion, reflects the type of breakthrough he was hoping to achieve. Devon’s response to Harmony’s appearance at the jazz club may also represent a watershed moment.

Devon Hamilton’s Name Change Is Important

Devon is teased to announce a change in his last name from Hamilton to Winters. Harmony’s arrival should play into that decision, with however it goes.

Keeping Tucker at a distance was understandable based on many historical factors. However, Devon is open to having a father-son relationship with Tucker that is independent from what he feels for his late adoptive father on Y&R.
