General Hospital spoilers reveal breaking up is hard to do, but sometimes it’s necessary for our own self-preservation. Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) learned this the hard way after discovering the truth about his ex-girlfriend — Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) — selfish behavior that led to him losing his job.
It’s understandable to feel torn between love and loyalty, but in the end, Chase couldn’t compromise his own morals. One would think Brook Lynn might have learned her lesson after meddling in Chase’s affairs and losing him because of it, but it seems like she just can’t stop trying to manage his life for him. Chase was recently reinstated on the PCPD police force — and Brook Lynn is hoping he never finds out the favors she had to call in to make that happen.
The moment of truth finally arrived, and Chase is a cop once again. All’s right with the world, except for the fact that Brook Lynn has once again positioned a giant lie between herself and the man she loves. The PCPD board is no joke, but lucky for Chase, BLQ had his back. Her testimonials were so golden, they could have put King Midas to shame. Blaze (Jacqueline Lopez) also weighed in with encouraging words, but we know Brook Lynn’s heartfelt statement to the board really tugged on Chase’s heartstrings. If only there was a way to ensure he would never learn about the strings Brook Lynn tugged on to get the review board to say yes.
Brook Lynn’s recent stunt could either make or break her second chance at love with Chase. He’s a man of honor, and he likes transparency and keeping his cards on the table when he’s in a relationship with someone. He might not be over Brook Lynn, but he doesn’t know how to be with her either when she can’t stop spinning new lies. Will Brook Lynn’s latest scheme comes back to bite her if Chase finds out she took the opportunity away from him to prove he could get his job back all on his own?
A few weeks back, Chase pursued a second chance with Brook Lynn, but then she felt obligated to tell him about the non-disclosure agreement she signed with Linc Brown (Dan Buran) that left her with the rights to her songs in hand once again. It seems like BLQ is always willing to compromise while Chase stands on principle. How can a relationship between two such very different people ever work out?
Knowing BLW sold out left a bad taste in Chase’s mouth and it didn’t need to be said that he took back every word of what he’d just said about still caring for BLQ and wanting to try again. Now, he just might be ready to see things differently as he’s regained his career and feels like he’s on the right path again, but that doesn’t mean BLQ feels the same way when she knows there is still another lie looming between them.
