Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) started off very strong in her motherhood journey. After all, she had wanted a baby for so long and to eventually have one fathered by Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) seemed like a dream come true. Of course, she went through a major mourning period when she thought Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater) had died, but when it turned out the little one was alive, DiMera stepped up to the plate. Sadly, she fell off course somewhere between stabbing Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) and all her jail escapes. Having Kristen in and out of prison all these years left the little girl feeling confused and abandoned by her momma. Manipulating her daughter into hating Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) also lands her on this list.

Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva) is another Salem villainess that falls into the “worst” mom category. She made her daughter Paige Larson’s (True O’Brien) time in the little town a living nightmare. As she didn’t approve of Paige’s relationship with JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss), she tried to make him out to be a cheater. When that didn’t work, she jumped into bed with him, herself.

This may be a controversial one, but fan favorite Belle Brady (Martha Madison) may not get the “Mom of the Year” award in Salem anytime soon. While daughter Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) is doing well now, she had tumultuous teen years where she was a schemer and overall, mentally unstable. Could it be that Belle was far more preoccupied with her multiple affairs on Shawn-Douglas Brady (Brandon Beemer) over the years, versus ensuring her daughter was, okay? Would that have made a difference for Claire?
