The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) shook hands on a deal with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). The non-legal agreement to sell McCall Unlimited to the Moustache is based on two rogues’ conversation in a Genoa City Athletic Club Suite, which certainly leaves outs for both men.

Tucker wanted to sell his company to Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). That effort began when Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) obtained McCall Unlimited’s outstanding debt, and she forced St. John’s character to offer that deal to his son.

Devon recently told his still-estranged biological father that he will be staying with Chancellor-Winters. Tucker relayed that to Ashley, they argued, and the agreement with Victor happened.

Victor created Newman Media to provide a prove-it project to his youngest son. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) has a similarly contentious relationship with his father as Devon does with Tucker.

Adam’s perspective about Victor was turned around when the Moustache told him he would head a revamped McCall Unlimited. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) was opposed to Newman Enterprises funding her father’s favored child project.

Victor oddly did not oppose her usurping of his ultimate authority when he easily could have. Viewers were asked to believe that Victor’s desperate need to stabilize Adam was the reason.

Tucker saw Ashley’s idea, that he sell his company to Devon, as a perfect double-pronged plan. He would meet his love’s request, and her faith in him would be restored.

He also saw the opportunity to create a legacy with Devon as ideal. Why wouldn’t James’ character want to take control of a music-focused corporation?

Devon shares his father’s onerous and stubborn streaks. He turned Tucker down because he was unwilling to offer space in his heart to him.

And no, that is not a harsh assessment of Devon’s outlook based on the similar way he treated Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) in recent years, first blaming her for Hilary Hamilton’s (Mishael Morgan) death and then claiming he was being wronged because of the intended initial public offering deal at CW.

Ashley Abbott Throws A Lifeline

Ashley has not cut Tucker off. He took that as a sign of hope. But it was also proof of love.

Tucker’s love for Ashley is repeatedly mentioned. Ashley has played this game more coyly, and she should because he cheated on her with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) during this pairing’s last marriage.

However, Ashley bent when faced with the real prospect of Tucker leaving GC. She is teased to ask him to move in with her.

Whether Tucker realizes a business deal with Victor to his liking remains to be seen. But a deal with Ashley is in the offering on Y&R.
