Dan hails from New South Wales and Queensland, Australia. He graduated from the Queensland University of Technology in 2002, studying acting. After graduation, he appeared in stage productions within his home country, which include Rent, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, and The Three Sisters. He would later have appearances in Stupid, Stupid, Man, a comedy series that aired on Australian TV1. Just prior to his Days stint, he appeared on the Australian soap, Home and Away, as well as Spartacus.
