As she stands in front of her mother asking her to clarify why Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) wouldn’t want her to marry her nephew, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), Trina is already going to know the truth in her heart. It’s unbelievably hard to admit to herself and wrap her head around. She doesn’t need to hear her mom say it, but she wants to nonetheless. Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) is the only father she’s ever known, and he doesn’t need replacing. She knows Marcus won’t exit her life if it turns out he’s not her biological father, but she will still struggle to picture what it’s supposed to look like having both of them in her life as her father — especially if Curtis is no longer going to be her stepdad.

It would take a lot for Trina to wish she would never see her mother again, but that’s just how she’s going to be feeling on the heels of receiving this news.

This is a new space for Trina. She’s not used to her mom letting her down. It tore Trina apart when her dad, Marcus, faked his death to take down drug lord, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), but her mom has never done anything to disappoint her or leave her questioning her intentions. She’s never hurt Trina like this. Finding out she hid this for twenty years was the hardest thing she’s ever endured, and she will need someone to help her pick up the pieces of her shattered heart. Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) will be that person. Fans have been waiting for Trina and Spencer to seek refuge from their traumatized parents in one another’s’ arms, and this just might be what pushes them together.
