General Hospital (GH) Spoilers: Spencer’s Embarrassment, Grandmother’s Shame-Laura Catches Spencer Lying

General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease that Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) will be embarrassed when Laura Collins (Genie Francis) catches him in a lie. Even grandsons Spencer’s age can’t escape shame when Grandma chastises them for an untruth!

General Hospital Spoilers – Spencer Cassadine Didn’t Want Her To Know

Spencer didn’t want everyone to know that he and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) were fake-dating the night of Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) birthday party. They were trying to smoke a jealous Esmé Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) out of the shadows, thinking that she was The Hook and they could bring her to justice. But Grandma Laura didn’t know that Spencer and Trina weren’t actually dating, no more than anyone else did, if her family knew they may think it a bit soon.

Trina had just lost her sweet cop boyfriend Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse) a couple of weeks prior. Might it not have been a little too soon for Spencer to swoop in?

General Hospital Updates – Undercover Ops, Not Lying

Spencer and Trina actually did and do have romantic feelings for each other, but they were on the date and making many public displays of affection like they were undercover. It was like they were detectives or spies on an undercover operation, it wasn’t meant for intentional deceit, or lying to anyone in particular about anything. Admittedly, they could have been lying to themselves and each other a little bit about how they really felt about each other while on the Haunted Star. But that was neither the time nor the place to admit their feelings to themselves or to each other, although some truths did come forth as they were “pretending”. The time and the place will come to be honest with themselves and each other once the danger is passed – and until the actual Hook is caught, no one’s safe.

Grandma Wants To Know

Laura couldn’t help but notice that when Spencer brought the hypothermic and very pregnant Esmé to GH, he and Trina were together and dressed to the nines! She has to ask if they were on a date and wasn’t it too soon for him to move in on Trina. Rory was barely cold in the ground and so Spencer has to explain what they were doing.

A somewhat embarrassed Spencer explains that yes, Trina and he went together to the blast on the Haunted Star, and yes, what she heard was true. They were on a real date but they were faking partially to draw Esmé out, thinking she’d be jealous-but Laura can tell Spencer’s feelings are real whys he lying?
