General Hospital (GH) Spoilers: Marcus Coloma is OUT — But Which Way Is Nik Headed?

General Hospital (GH) Spoilers reveal Marcus Coloma — who has played the role of Nikolas Cassadine since 2019 — is indeed moving on from General Hospital and we wish him well. However, mums the word on just how Coloma will make his big exit, and the waters were muddied by alleged disputes over the actor’s contract not being renewed and a decision that he wouldn’t tape his final scenes. There has been some back and forth on whether that was truly a joint decision between GH production and Coloma or not. Nevertheless, he’s leaving, and we have no idea how that will impact the character of Nikolas. Here are a few ways it could all go down.

General Hospital Spoilers — Nikolas Cassadine Is Killed

When Marcus Coloma leaves the set, he just might take the character of Nikolas with him. That being said, this is Port Charles, and we all know he could come back to life at any time. He’s done it before. Still, whether his demise would be a realistic one at the hands of someone else — like his uncle, Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaugnessy) — or would be a ruse he planned himself to make everyone think he’s dead when he does not remain to be seen. Would Nikolas really put his family through that again, and at a time when he’s about to be a father and wants Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) as far away from his family as possible? Maybe, maybe not.

It’s also possible Nikolas is simply headed to lock up, and we may not see him for a while. It would be hard to give his character this storyline without showing him on-screen though because he would presumably be in jail due to his confession regarding ridding the world of Esme. An ongoing trial would have to occur and it wouldn’t be easy to move forward with that plot without someone acting as Nikolas. However, many fans would welcome the hiatus if it meant GH production was working on getting Tyler Christopher back into the role.

Speaking of Tyler Christopher…the general consensus is that Marcus wasn’t even all that welcomed when he took on the role. Fans longed for Christopher and still do. They’ve made it abundantly clear they do not want another Greek lookalike such as Adam Huss, who has filled in for Marcus a few times as needed.
