General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is a bit of a mother-hen type. She’s always looking out for the people she loves, and sometimes she assumes she knows what’s best for them better than they do. When she stops by the Quartermaine mansion to check on Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), she won’t get the warm reception she expected. Willow is irritated by Carly’s questions about how she’s feeling and how the pregnancy is going. The burden of carrying her cancer diagnosis in secret is clearly heavier than Willow thinks it is, and it’s going to leave Carly confused when Willow snaps at her for caring too much.
Carly has been pretty worried about Willow ever since she fainted the other day. Sure, some of that was due to the anger she was feeling and the exhaustion of fighting with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). That might have been the calmest and most collected Carly has been when speaking to Nina in more than a year. That was proof she knows how to keep her own feelings in check when it was for the betterment of Willow and the baby. Will that still ring true when Carly finds out Willow is battling Stage IV leukemia and undergoing treatment while pregnant? Carly is going to circle back to the Quartermaines and check in on Willow.
When Carly sits down with Willow, she’s going to notice how pale and fatigued she looks. Her lack of color and dark undereye circles make Carly suspect she’s not taking the best care of herself that she could be. Is she working too many shifts? Carly knows it’s exciting for Willow to finally have a career she’s passionate about, but she shouldn’t be overdoing it beyond what her body is capable of right now.
Lecturing Willow isn’t what the young mom-to-be needs right now, though Carly couldn’t possibly be expected to understand given she’s in the dark about why Willow is unwell. Still, Carly might mention that she can help out with Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) or help take other tasks off of Willow’s hands if it’s necessary, and it’s going to make Willow feel like Carly is implying she’s not taking care of her child.
Willow doesn’t want everyone poking around in her business. This is precisely why she told Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) she doesn’t want anyone to know her diagnosis. Carly is already overly concerned about Willow only knowing she’s a pregnant and working mother. Why would Carly imply Willow may not be handling things well enough on her own with just Michael’s support? Willow isn’t going to see this the way everyone else does. Her biggest fear is not being here to care for her kids, and now it seems everyone else is worried she isn’t taking care of either of them already.
