The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) wants to move ahead. She pulled herself out of a dysfunctional relationship with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) by swapping him for his brother.

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) never intended to target the woman Adam fell in love with. But as Sally rejected Adam’s most recent attempt at reconciliation, Nick decided that the connection they had was worth pursuing.

Adam wronged Sally when ending their relationship after he appeared to commit to her. He saw his path as noble. But preserving Sally’s job at Newman Media proved to be a foolish reason to simultaneously claim she was holding him back.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Sally Spectra Forced To Choose

Sally threw herself at Adam for months. As fans recall, he resisted her efforts to form a romantic bond.

Hope’s character was patient, believing that her high appeal would prove overwhelming. She based that thought on her past success with other guys she was interested in while also believing Adam was more unique than any of them.

However, Sally’s realized connection with Adam proved short-lived. His well-known hang-ups served to sabotage their burgeoning relationship, and Sally’s choice to break from Adam can not be reasonably argued against.

The Young And The Restless Updates – Nick Newman Is Free

Though he likely would never admit the comparison, Nick dropped Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) months ago. She had done nothing wrong, with that situation being comparable to Sally’s with Adam.

Being free, Nick found himself initially put off by Sally. He saw her as a manipulative schemer and someone who did not belong inside the family business.

But Sally’s work impressed Nick. In time, she also made a deep impression in his heart, with their romantic turn being believable. Kudos to Y&R’s writing staff for developing the alternate course for Hope and Morrow’s characters.

Adam Newman Will Not Forget It

Adam is not used to being told any. Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) is arguably the only woman who holds sway over Adam’s opinion. She is the woman he loves more deeply than any other.

Sally’s rejection of Adam is already causing him to chide Nick. Grossman’s character does not feel comfortable degrading Sally. So, he has turned to his brother, believing Nick intentionally coupled with Sally as a way to undermine him.

Adam is wrong about Nick’s intentions. But the likelihood that he will recognize that Nick is currently a better match for Sally is zero.
