Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers and updates tease that when Father Eric Brady (Greg Vaughn) performed an exorcism on Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), Salem thought it had seen the last of the Devil, at least for the time being. But being crafty as demons are, the Devil left Marlena and then took possession of her grandson, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman). With no one the wiser, the devil has been able to move through Salem undetected for the most part.

Although most of Salem was fooled into believing the Devil was gone for good, Susan Banks (Stacey Haiduk) realized the truth. She confronted Johnny. Instead of turning her into a cat this time, Johnny opted to make Susan forget the whole thing and she hightailed it back home to Memphis. But Johnny couldn’t let anyone get close enough to discover the truth. So he publicly humiliated his new wife, Chanel DuPris (Raven Bowens) so she would leave him and not discover his true nature. In the meantime, Johnny has enjoyed causing chaos wherever he goes.

The Devil’s long-term goal is to take Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara Brady’s (Victoria Konefal) baby once it’s born. But until it’s time for Ciara to give birth, Johnny has been causing trouble wherever he can. But soon, Marlena will recognize the signs and realize that the devil isn’t gone, he merely switched hosts. But Marlena won’t be able to thwart the Devil by herself, she will need to call Eric back to perform another exorcism, and this time they will need to make sure the devil is gone for good.

But the clock is ticking and it’s getting close to the time for Ciara to give birth. If Johnny isn’t stopped and the Devil exorcised, he may get the baby. It looks like Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) may be present when Ciara goes into labor. Is it possible that Johnny’s twin can hold the Devil at bay long enough for Ciara and her baby to get away safely? If anyone can get through to Johnny it would be his twin. And although they don’t always get along, it may be Allie who saves the day.
