The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers and updates tease that Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) has good instincts. She is right to believe that Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) has let her father down again.

Steffy is also right to continue encouraging her mother to not give up on love. Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) still loves Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and likely always will. That feeling persists, despite their second divorce in 2006.

Ridge does not know that Brooke was drinking with his enemy on New Year’s Eve. As viewers recall, Brooke felt unable to tell Alcoholics Anonymous meeting members that she was not drinking alone.

When asked by the head of the meeting Ridge accompanied her to, Brooke lied. That specific moment was witnessed by her husband, which explains why he was written into that scene.

So, Ridge’s underlying suspicion about Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) being a source of inevitable trouble will prove out. When it does, Brooke and Ridge’s marriage will teeter or fall.

Deacon can not help himself. He loves Brooke and feels that there is something between them. On that plot point, Deacon is right.

Lang’s character was tipsy for the first time since Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer) spiked her juice bottle with some alcohol a few years ago. However, that sinister attack did not put as much fuel into Brooke’s system as was in it on New Year’s Eve.

Deacon was drawn into the moment, choosing to drink with Brooke when he should have stopped her cold. That choice underscored the still-dysfunctional relationship that he has with Brooke. They are not good for each other, yet he is pursuing her.

Taylor is afraid of heartbreak. She must be assuming that even if Ridge returns to her, he will later go back to Brooke. That would be a devastating scenario.

Wisdom comes with time and by implementing lessons learned. So, why pursue Ridge when he has married Brooke so many times?

Steffy sees a new day and opportunity. Somewhat similar to Deacon, Taylor will likely not be able to resist Ridge if he claims to break from Brooke. At that point in the plot, this long-ago couple could surely revive as Steffy is predicting.
