The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers and updates tease that alum Janice Lynde will return to the daytime soap. She’ll reprise her role as the renowned pianist, Leslie Brooks, a role she debuted back in 1973.

After her first appearance back in 1973, she appeared in five other episodes until 1979. It’s been three years since she last appeared on the soap during its 45th-anniversary celebration. She was one of the soap vets who returned for the special event including Lauren Woodland, Kelly Kruger, and Meg Bennett.

Lynde is set to make several appearances in mid-October. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) recently saw the pianist in concert while they were visiting Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) in Italy, so it’s possible that Leslie will perform during Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Ashland’s Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) wedding.

The Young and the Restless isn’t Lynde’s only run-in daytime soap. The actress also appeared on Another World as Tracy DeWitt and One Life to Live as Laurel Wolek. She also appeared in various series that aired during the 1970s and 1980s including The Odd Couple and Family Ties to Night Court.

Fans know that Ashland’s past has started to come back to haunt him. He’s trying to explain his mysterious past by saying that he had an abusive childhood. Viewers need to wait and see if he’s telling the truth or not. Even so, Ashland is still hiding something from Victoria.

Aside from that, he’s been receiving creepy messages from a mysterious person from his past. Jesse is one of those who are sending the unsettling texts and he’ll visit Ashland in Genoa City. Ashland wants Jesse to leave town but the latter may argue that he’ll only do so once he gets what he wants.

Will Ashland be desperate enough to give Jesse $3 million in exchange for making sure that his dark secrets are kept under wraps?
