Therefore, Finn figures that the only way he can check out his birth mother without upsetting her, his new in-laws, or his adoptive parents. Through his birth mother, Finn may be able to find out who his birth father is as well and how to contact him! Finn may be a lot like Eric – giving people the benefit of the doubt and numerous chances to change like Eric did Quinn. Basically, it means that when you tell that first lie it usually means that you have to continue to lie to cover up the first lie, and it can have a domino effect that usually destroys your life when the truth comes out!

Viewers of The Bold and The Beautiful know that if Finn is smart, he won’t just ask Sheila to submit to a mitochondrial DNA test. That is a test comparing DNA between mother and child and will work because mitochondrial DNA is passed down by the mother unchanged, to all her children, both male and female. Viewers of The Bold and The Beautiful who are longtime fans know that Sheila was a nurse and has tried to alter DNA tests before – one to determine paternity of a child between Eric and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye)!

Finn should see if he can get something with Sheila’s DNA without her knowing – maybe a hair with the root attached. Babies love to pull hair, so if he can arrange a sneak meeting with Hayes along and lets Sheila hold him, that might be a good way to get a hair sample. The hair has to have the root. Otherwise, he may have to figure out some other way to get some mitochondrial DNA! But Finn might not be that smart – his emotions might override his medical training and common sense, and that is exactly what Sheila would bank on!
