Adam has been behaving like a normal human being in recent months. Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) stroke and ongoing recovery, which is taking place inside a mental health facility, deeply affected his outlook. He has been trying and succeeding in being a better guy.

Adam pulled back when encouraged by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to go after Chance Com. That represented further proof that Adam is serious about sustaining the change within himself.

Victor disagreed with Adam’s take and was surprised by it. However, he didn’t push the issue because of the progress his often misguided son has made, including the repair of their own relationship.

The respect that Adam has for Victor included no argument being had. They simply had a business direction disagreement and that was that, for now.

There will never be any getting around it. Despite Billy publicly forgiving Adam in court a number of years ago, Thompson’s alter ego can’t adjust his mindset.

Adam admitted not knowing that he hit Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono) on that dark road all those years ago. But he also acknowledged his failure to report realizing what he thought happened. That is what Billy can’t forget and hasn’t actually forgiven.

So, a gift is given to Adam or not, Newman Media and all things Grossman’s character will remain on the table.

Nick Newman Battles As Well

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) has grown recently as well. Adam’s two saves of Faith Newman’s (Reylynn Caster) life altered Nick’s perspective on his brother.

Billy will be thrown by Nick’s defense of Adam. But at least that will prove to be good intel. Always looking to nose for gossip, under the cover of news, Billy will use that surprising knowledge moving forward.

Adam alone was an easier target, as compared to him backed by Victor and also supported by Nick. So, Billy will recognize that his challenge has become steeper as he pursues the endless quest for justice that can never truly be realized.
