Yosemite National Park – Book Your ticket To Visit This Summer

If you are planning a day trip to Yosemite National Park during the peak season, you need to book first.

Anyone hoping to head to Yosemite National Park in California this summer should note that day visitors will be required to make advance reservations, if they are planning to go there between May 21 and September 30.

Pre-Book Your Day Trip To Yosemite National Park

Yosemite National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site, located up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. The park is a popular place to visit and normally receives more than four million visitors each year.

However, after the park closed in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the reopening was taken slowly. In June last year, a phased reopening for day visitors required permits. This was designed to cope with guest numbers as Yosemite reopened. However, that was lifted in November 2020.

The Number Of Visitors To Yosemite National Park To Be Limited Again

The permit system caused Yosemite’s visitation numbers to drop by half. However, the system will be implemented again this year for day visitors, during the peak summer season. The reason for limiting the number of visitors is to facilitate the correct social distancing. It is hoped this will then curb the spread of the virus.

Meanwhile, the number of visitors permitted to enter the park will depend on the particular tier the county is in at that time.

What Can You Expect At Yosemite National Park?

Once visitors arrive in Yosemite National Park, they will once again be able to marvel at the precipitous drop of the Bridalveil Fall, or gaze at the granite rocky monster of El Capitan and the beautiful, lush green, and often wildflower-strewn Half Dome.

Visitors will also gaze in awe at the giant sequoias towering into the air at Mariposa Grove and experience the drenching mists of Yosemite Falls. Guests will be able to explore the lakes in the high country’s subalpine wilderness, as well as hike Hetch Hetchy’s

Getting To Yosemite National Park

Potential visitors should be in mind that the park’s shuttle buses will not be running this summer. On top of this, they should bear in mind that each day-use reservation is valid for one vehicle only and for a total of three days.

The National Park Service throughout the United States is using a phased approach to visitors in order to be able to gradually increase access on a park-by-park basis.

Guests at Yosemite National Park will still be urged to follow the CDC guidelines by maintaining a safe distance between groups. Whenever social distancing cannot be maintained, guests are required to wear a cloth face covering. Anyone who is planning the trip, but feels unwell, or experiences COVID-19 symptoms, is urged to stay at home until well enough to travel – the park isn’t going anywhere, so ensure you are up to the trip.
