Reopening Date Set For Volcano Bay At Universal Orlando Resort

While Volcano Bay at Universal Orlando has been closed for the season, the plan is to reopen on Saturday, February 27.

A date has been set for the reopening of Volcano Bay at Universal Orlando Resort. Guests will be able to visit from Saturday, February 27. Everything necessary will be in place for health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, including enhanced cleaning measures, enforced social distancing, capacity limitations, temperature screenings, and other safety controls. The only worry for guests could just be the weather. The average high temperature during that time of the year is in the mid to high 70s.

What is required at Volcano Bay at Universal Orlando Resort?

Volcano Bay will be joining Universal Orlando’s other two major theme parks in introducing heightened safety and health measures to ensure the wellbeing of both guests and its staff. Guests will be required to wear face masks in the park. However, these will not be required in the pools or on any of the water rides.

As noted on the Universal Orlando Resort website, as the parks open again, everyone needs to follow CDC guidelines, as well as the recommendations of health officials and the policies of Universal Orlando. The resort notes that any public location where people are gathered does still provide an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19. Guests are warned that the resort cannot guarantee that guests will not be exposed during their visit.

New measures in place at Universal Orlando Resort

The innovative “wait-less” rides at Volcano Bay will allow visitors to easily socially distance themselves, instead of hanging out in the normally packed queues in a ride’s corridors. The new Tapu Tapu wristbands have been debuted in the park and are completely waterproof. These allow visitors to leave their valuables in a locker, while still having access to their preferred method of payment when visiting any of the park’s restaurants or bars.

About Volcano Bay

Volcano Bay is a water theme park, but the difference here is that in the center is what looks like a real volcano. Except, of course, real volcanoes don’t have water slides! If guests find the water slides too challenging, they can chill out and enjoy the winding river and the wave pool, or relax in the lounge chairs. The experience is just like being in a South Seas oasis.

Saving money

Universal Orlando Resort has recently announced a Military Freedom Pass for active duty and retired military and their families. This includes access to all three of the theme parks.

The resort offers hotel accommodation in every price range to suit any family or group. This includes the suite-level rooms in the Value category. One major advantage of staying on the property is being able to get early park admission, transportation between resorts and parks, and free express passes.
