Amazon Makes Kids Shows Like Peppa Pig Free For All Customers

Amazon is making dozens of its children’s programs, including Arthur and Peppa Pig, completely free, per The Verge. Since more people must stay home due to the coronavirus pandemic, Amazon wants to make a portion of its Prime Video kids and family-friendly programming free. This includes popular shows like Arthur, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, among others.

Amazon Is Making Dozens Of Its Children’s Programs, Including Arthur And Peppa Pig, Completely Free

As of Monday, March 23, over 40 family and kids’ shows are available to stream for free on Prime Video for all its customers, including those who don’t have an Amazon Prime membership. All you need is an Amazon account, where you can get for free by registering on the website.

This special offer includes Arthur, Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, If You Give A Mouse A Cookie, Just Add Magic, Pete the Cat, The Smurfs, and Scooby-Doo: The Movie.

Amazon has become the latest company to offer part of its content free to customers in a time of self-isolation and social distancing. The non-family-friendly streaming service Shudder and sports platforms like the NBA League Pass and NFL Game Pass have also offered free content to viewers looking to get their fix at home. In addition, Hulu and Sling TV have added free live news to keep subscribers up to date with the ever-changing information about the COVID-19 pandemic.

Amazon did not reveal how long the offer will last. This is a great way to gain some Prime subscribers during this momentary downtime. Netflix’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos told CNN on Sunday that people should take this time to find other sources of entertainment.

This allow streaming services to reach to new potential customers and retain them after life returns to some sense of normalcy. This is a move that most streaming companies want to make. Amazon is doing it by offering family-friendly entertainment on a website where most parents are ordering household goodies or basic supplies. That’s a smart move, too.
