In addition, Disney’s theme parks around the world are closed. If you have children, then you may realize that you could be stuck inside with them for a while. It’s important to keep your children occupied and educated during this time. It’s also important to give them a break from their studies and allow them to watch some television. Here are some shows that are both entertaining and educational that you can allow your kids to watch.
Doc McStuffins is an educational series that follows a little girl who wants to be just like her mom who works as a veterinarian. She fixes toys with the help of her friends, who also happen to be toys. Since the show is a little about the medical field, it can help your kids understand the coronavirus and the importance of basic hygiene. It’s available to stream on Disney+.
The long-running PBS-to-HBO series is important for kids, especially in these challenging times. Since it has daily letter- and number-of-the-day segments, your kids can continue to learn, even at home. Each day, there’s a lesson at Hooper’s store. The show follows on its promise to make children “stronger, kinder, smarter on Sesame Street.” It’s available to stream on Amazon Prime, HBO, Hulu, and PBS Kids.
Miles from Tomorrowland will take your kids on an out of this world adventure. This show is enjoyed by kids four and up as they learn about astronomy, prereading skills, and vocabulary words. It’s available to stream on Disney+, Hulu, and YouTube TV.
This series has run from 2006 to 2016 and is very similar to Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer. It invites your children to get involved with the show. What’s great about this series is that it features classic characters like Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and the rest of the fab five.
Mrs. Frizzle’s younger sister (voiced by Kate McKinnon) encourages the next generation of school-aged children to learn about anthropology, geology, and science as they take on new adventures. It’s a great escape from what’s going on in the present times. And if you’re a fan of the old-school Magic School Bus, it’s also available to stream on Netflix.
These shows should be enough to keep your kids occupied for an hour or so. Are there any other shows that you would recommend to fellow parents? Sound off below in the comments section.
