If you’re a mom, just like me, then you probably know that “We’re going to Disney World” is one of the most exciting things you’ll ever have the opportunity to say to your children.

As parents, we have to work our butts off just for a chance to take our children somewhere special with us on vacation. While many offers allow you to take your child on the plane for free, you still have to pay for feeding them, entertaining them, and giving them a nice cozy bed to sleep in while you’re away. All of that quickly adds up to an expensive week of fun.

With all of that in mind, you might think that the last thing you want to do is shell out extra cash for the honor of being able to stay in a Walt Disney World resort. However, though they can seem more expensive on the surface, I’m here to tell you that they might be worth the money.

Upgrading your Disney Experience

The first and most obvious benefit of staying at a Walt Disney resort, is that you get to extend the “Disney” experience throughout the whole of your vacation. In other words, when my girls got tired at the park, they didn’t feel like they were missing out on anything by going back to the hotel room. The unique themes bedazzled the twins, while my five-year-old Ava loved playing in the Disney pools – to her, it was just like being in the parks themselves. While the parks are great, you won’t be able to stay there all the time, and having a great hotel to come back to should help you to avoid some tears when it’s time to leave.

Convenience is Key

As a mom travelling with a young daughter and a pair of ten-month-old twins, convenience means a lot to me on vacation. The last thing I want to have to do is spend so much time running around trying to organize things that I have no chance to relax and enjoy myself. While you do pay more in a Walt Disney Resort than staying outside of the park, you’re also just a stone’s throw away from the action – which means no more having to get a double-stroller onto a bus.

The short and simple commute means that everything is far more relaxed, and you don’t need to panic about rushing out at a certain time in order to avoid the crowds first thing in the morning. In other words, you can enjoy your trip.

Packages can Make It Cheaper

Like I’ve said before, staying in a Disney resort is often more expensive than staying outside of the parks, but it can be less costly than you think with the right packages. For instance, I booked my tickets, hotels, transport, and meals in one go, and I saved a fair bit on what I would have paid for all those things separately. With that in mind, my best advice to you is to look for package deals when you want to save cash.
