10 Ways to Spend Valentine’s Day with Your Child

Kids love Valentine’s Day. When you are a parent you are less likely to spend the holiday on a hot date. The good news is you can spend Valentine’s Day with your child making everlasting memories. Here are several ideas to help you find something fun to do with your mini valentine.

10 Ways to Spend Valentine’s Day with Your Child

1. Bake some fun treats together. Kids love baking and spending that quality time with you makes your child feel like the most important person in the world.

2. Create fun decorations for around the house. Kids love to do crafts and getting free reign to cover the house in paper hearts is one way to make your child’s heart sing. Visit Pintrest for a ton of great fun ideas your child will just love.

3. Get dressed up and go out. Little girls love a reason to get dressed up and go somewhere. even if it is just the supermarket to pick up dinner for the night your child would love to spend Valentine’s Day with you in a frilly dress.

4. Go out on a date together. This one will be remembered for a lifetime. Taking your child out on a fun “Date” to dinner, a movies, or some fun activity one on one will make your child feel loved. This is a great way to help each child feel loved.

5. Spend time doing acts of kindness together. Around Christmas everyone loves to do kind things for others. After the season is over many stop with the random acts of kindness. Bring the fun back to life with your child for Valentines Day. They will love the feeling of helping others.

6. Cuddle up with hot cocoa and a movie for a fun family Valentine’s evening before the kids go to bed. This is a great way to get some quality family time in and relax everyone so they can go to bed easy before you spend the rest of the holiday with your date.

There’s something any parent can do with there is child for Valentines Day

7. Send your child some mail. Kids love mail and sending them a Valentine’s card is a great way to make them happy this valentine’s day. This is really great if you can not spend Valentine’s Day with your child for one reason or another.

8. Won’t get to spend the day together? That’s ok. Start valentines out with a fun heart shaped breakfast, add a note to your child’s lunch with a fun treat, and order your little ones and the babysitter a heart shaped pizza for dinner.

9. Show your child how much you appreciate them. As busy parents, we often forget to recognize the contributions our children make to the family. Valentine’s Day is a great time to grab up some boxed chocolates and a sweet card. Write why you are thankful for everything your child does in the card and leave this surprise out for your child.

10. Spend Valentine’s Day with your child. I mean the whole day. Keep them home from school, do crafts, read a stack of books, and go out for lunch. While they need time in school they will never forget getting a day off to just spend with you.
