Not only are gingerbread men cookies delicious to eat, but to make as a craft! This little cookie is the perfect festive craft right before the holidays. Kids will love decorating their own gingerbread man to hang up at home or take to school. Also, don’t forget to read the classic, “The Gingerbread Man” book after making your own!

INSTRUCTIONS TO ASSEMBLE
1. Cut out the shape of 2 gingerbread men on 2 separate pieces of brown paper. Here’s a link to a free template you can use. Set one of the gingerbread cut-outs aside for later use.
2. Apply glue to the back of the googly eyes and affix to the gingerbread face.
3. Apply glue to a fuzzy pom-pom and place it under the eyes.
4. With a paint brush, draw a smile with white paint. Wait 10 minutes to allow it to dry.
5. For the rosy cheeks, cut out 2 small circle shapes from the pink paper. Apply glue to each one and place at the upper corners of the smile.
6. Apply glue to the neck of the candy cane buttons and place in the trunk area of the gingerbread man.
5. Place the decorated gingerbread piece on top of the other piece. Make sure they line up completely.
6. With a hole puncher, punch holes all along the diameter of the 2 gingerbread pieces, at least a half inch in from the end.
7. Take the ribbon and lace it in and out of the holes. Stuff the gingerbread man with tissue as you complete the lacing process. Once completed, tie the ribbon in the back and secure it with tape.
