My 3-year-old daughter, Ava, loves everything Tinker Bell! She even dressed up as Tinkerbell and had a Pirate Fairy birthday cake for her birthday last year! So, to say she has anxiously awaiting the arrival of the latest film in the Disney Fairies series, Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast is an understatement. Luckily, her mommy is a blogger and was able to score the movie ahead of time to review!

Synopsis

An ancient myth of a fabled creature sparks the curiosity of Tinker Bell and her good friend Fawn, an animal fairy who’s not afraid to break the rules to help an animal in need. But this creature – massive and wondrous with glowing green eyes – is not welcome in Pixie Hollow – and the scout fairies are determined to capture the mysterious beast, who they fear will destroy their home. Fawn, who sees a tender heart beneath his gruff exterior, must convince Tink and her fairy friends to risk everything to rescue the NeverBeast.

This Tinker Bell film had a different feeling to it than the others. Tinker bell plays a secondary role while Fawn takes on the leading role. Voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin from Once Upon a Time, Fawn’s individual personality really shines in this movie. Children will definitely relate to her curious nature. The Disney animators also updated her hair style and general appearance which gave her a fresher look.

TINKERBELL AND THE LEGEND OF THE NEVERBEAST

In Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast, our fairy friends learn that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. The NeverBeast is a scary looking creature that pops out of nowhere, but is not evil and actually awaken to save Pixie Hollow. His long teeth, weird looking tail and bright green eyes are actual physical traits that allow him to save the fairy colony. The movie teaches children they should observe and learn before making a judgement about something new.

Ava enjoyed watching this film. Like the fairies, she learned that Gruff is a cute creature once she got past his scary exterior. She was a little scarred watching the end scene when Scruff saves Pixie Hollow, so I don’t recommend the movie for children younger three.
