Independence Day is a day to celebrate America, but also a day to spend with the family. Here are some great July 4th family activity ideas:
Take a mini vacation
There is no better way than spending time with the family than enjoying a mini vacation. My husband and I are going camping with our daughter Ava for four days. It’s great way to spend a couple days away from the city and it’s not too expensive either. Gone are the laptops, Ipads and Iphones! Just family bonding!
If you can’t get away for the weekend then take a vacation in your backyard. Kids will love camping in their backyard, but still have the comforts of home nearby.
Family Barbecue
What July 4th is complete without a barbecue? Barbecues are fun and easy. Little picky eaters also become a little less picky with barbecue food. Great things to make for small kids are – shrimp brochettes, hotdogs and mini hamburgers.
Get the kids involved by making July 4th flag cupcakes. Make chocolate or vanilla with red, white and blue wrapping. Then decorate them with stars piped in blue buttercream and stripes cut from red licorice laces.
Beach Day
If weather permits taking your kids to the beach. Bringing a picnic for lunch is fun and saves on eating to a restaurant with the whole family.
Enjoy a Parade or Fireworks
Kids love both activities. Dress them up in traditional colors and paint there face with an American Flag.
