Spring Party Craft: Cupcake Cup Umbrella Banner

Let’s get into the mood for the start of spring on March 20th, with this sweet and simple cupcake cup umbrella banner. This banner is perfect for your spring themed parties and is so simple to make even little hands can get it on the fun. You don’t need a great deal of supplies, in fact you can craft this banner for around $3 or less. Take a look below at how to make your own.

Supplies needed

Assorted cupcake cups
Ribbon
Pipe cleaners
Craft glue
Scissors

We were able to find all of these supplies at our local dollar store. Total cost for this project was around $3 with plenty of supplies left over to use for our other crafting adventures.

Directions

Begin by folding your cupcake cups in half. Press them firmly at the seam and flatten them out the best you can. You want them as flat as possible.

Cut a small length of pipe cleaner (a few inches in length will do) and make it into a J shape. This will be the handle of your umbrella.

Add some glue to the inside flap of your cupcake cup. Place the handle it in and press the flaps together. You want to secure the flaps and the handle all in place with this step.

Now lay your ribbon out on a flat surface. Add a few dabs of glue to the back of your umbrella. Press the umbrellas to the ribbon and hold them in place until they are secure. Repeat this process until you have a banner the length of your choosing.

Your beautiful umbrella banner can now be displayed. It will add some instant spring spirit to your space for sure!

Gather your supplies and give this easy and inexpensive cupcake cup umbrella banner a try. It is a fun and frugal craft that you won’t want to miss out on.
