Time to get those cameras out!

National Geographic is inviting people of all ages to help them celebrate the planet and all its wonders by creating a global snapshot through The Great Nature Project. Your mission is to take pictures of the plants and animals in your world, and then share them on social media using the hashtag #GreatNature.

By participating, children can help National Geographic Kids attempt to break a Guinness World Records title for the largest online photo album of animals. Any photo of an animal that is hashtaged #GreatNature AND #animal will count towards the record!

This is a great activity for the whole family!

Over the weekend, my husband and I went on a nature walk with our 2-year-old daughter at the beautiful Jean Drapeau Park in Montreal. Originally constructed for Expo 67, the island has a whole range of wildlife and plants. Our favorite picture was of the heron we spotted while crossing over the bridge above the St. Lawrence River. The picture shows how well a heron blends in into his environment. Try to see if you can find him!

While at the park, we also attended the annual farm day. We got to see all kinds of farm animals and learn about their importance to our local industry.  Ava’s favorite animals were the tiny piglets! I thought they were pretty cute too 😉

What are you waiting for? Get outside and search out the perfect wonder in your world! You can also take a picture of your family pet!

There is also an added bonus for Celeb Baby Laundry readers!  When sharing a photo, make sure to also hashtag photo with #NGKInsiderGNP for a chance to wine a prize pack from National Geographic Kids. All the photos will appear on the exclusive National Geographic Kids Insider Page.  At the end of the project a National Geographic photographer will take a look at all of the submissions and select his/her favorite image, which we will then push out on our social channels!
