Lily Allen Welcomes Marnie Rose Cooper Into The World

This is just in! Lily Allen, the UK pop star with a punch, is a mom again! Allen and her husband, Sam Cooper, had little Marnie Rose Cooper on the 8^th of January, 2013 – and it’s a cutie! Allen and Cooper already have 13-month-old Ethel Mary, so Marnie Rose will have a playmate when she grows up. In July, several news outlets ran with the story that Allen was pregnant, but Allen and her rep denied any such thing. She appeared at the British Fashion Awards in November with a belly the size of a pregnant woman’s belly – and we all immediately knew that Allen was at the point of giving birth.

On New Year’s Eve, Allen tweeted, “[I] was only planning on spending a few days of [2013] pregnant. Unlike the last 3 years.” She also added that she’d been eating curries to force labor. Allen’s rep did not respond to requests from People magazine to confirm the birth of little Marnie Rose, but Allen tweeted on Thursday, “Quite overwhelmed by all the well wishing going on. THANKYOU everybody x x x.” Allen’s actor friend, Charlie Condou, also joined in on the baby celebrations when he tweeted, “[I] had a little cry [when Lily] told me Marnie Rose was born.”

Allen suffered from several miscarriages before the birth of little Ethel Mary and her public struggle with trying to conceive became publically known. In her documentary, “Lily Allen: Rags To Riches”, she said about this struggle, “It was a really long battle, and I think that kind of thing changes a person.” The star took time off from her music career in 2010 to focus on her personal life and fashion career, but in June of 2012, the star tweeted her return to the music scene: “You will be pleased to know that i am currently in the f***ing studio with [producer] @GregKurstin,”
