Hailee Steinfeld To Be Juliet in Romeo & Juliet

True Grit’s Hailee Steinfield, 14, is set to play Juliet in the new new project Romeo and Juliet by Carlo Carlei.

The film will finally begin shooting later this spring in Italy, with age-appropriate 14-year-old Steinfeld playing Juliet, one half of a young couple whose forbidden romance leads to tragedy for both their warring families. Carlei has said the film will be set in classic Shakespearan era and will bring the iconic characters to life for a new generation that doesn’t have its own version yet (we disagree and think 1996′s Baz Lurhmann is still relevant today but we digress). Julian Fellowes wrote the script.

This will be Hailee’s first film since True Grit.  Do you think she will make a good Juliet?
