Contest: Best Little Laugh With Fisher-Price

One of the best moments in any new parents life is seeing their baby laugh and smile for the first time. I remember doing everything under the moon to get my daughter Ava to show me her smile and laugh. Now that she is a little older those happy moments don’t mean any less and they still bring a smile to my lips every time.

I remember the day I took this shot perfectly. Ava was six-months-old and in a super giggly mood. Her hair is so long and just days after we took her for her first haircut.

What makes your little bundle of joy smile and laugh? When Ava was young she loved when I made silly faces and sounds. Now she laughs hysterically when I give her an airplane ride. She also loves when dada becomes a tickle monster who chases her around the house.

Family Zoo Day

For those if you that follow my first time mommy adventures, you know we love taking our little man to the zoo. We have an annual pass and try to go at least once a month. We are definitely taking advantage of the 80 degree weather before the 100+ degree temps creep up.

My husband and I like to explore different routes at the zoo to keep things fun and interesting for us and baby. We love the zoo because you never know what the animals might be doing. The last time we visited, the flamingos were going crazy and flapping around. The time before that one of the chimpanzees started running and kicking the wall. You never know what to expect! Not crawling yet…

So we’ve gotten a lot of weird looks and comments because our little man is not crawling yet. He’s only six months old but a lot of our other friend’s baby’s started at five months.

It is definitely hard not to compare your child to other people’s children especially when we have a niece that is 6 weeks older than our little guy and she has been crawling for the past two months! My Breastfeeding Adventure Continues…

I did it! Breastfed for 6 months! Now, to my next goal of 1 year!

Someone asked me the other day what the biggest challenge in raising our son has been…and without a doubt it is definitely breastfeeding. When I was pregnant, I read a ton of books on pregnancy, sleep training, and tips for getting through baby’s first year but I didn’t really give breastfeeding books another thought.

CRAFTING: Planning a Superhero Party

I know he’s only six months but I’m getting a head start on planning his first birthday party. The first six months have flown by that I want to be sure I have enough time to plan an amazing party for our baby. I want to keep the party simple but have fun things for adults and kids to enjoy.

My husband and I were talking and we were still not sure on the theme but superheroes are definitely top on the list. The other ideas include Star Wars and dinosaurs. Pinterest is such an amazing place to get great ideas! I am inspired every time I log on. I typed in “superhero” and pages of cakes, crafts, cookies, cake pops and capes popped up! Shakira loves Breastfeeding!

The Voice judge admits she loves the special bonding time breastfeeding allows with her 4-month-old son, Milan.

“Breastfeeding has been one of the best experiences of my life,” she said to US Weekly. “I love it! I can’t stop!” Laughing, she added, “I think I’m going to breastfeed him until he goes to college! I’m hooked!”
