Casey Anthony Sentenced to Four Years in Jail

Casey Anthony was sentenced to four years in prison today with fines totaling $4,000 for providing false information to law enforcement officials. However, Casey could be granted her freedom as early as next month.

Judge Perry said Casey would get credit for time she already served in prison (over two years) and also for good behavior, but he called for a recess to determine how much time that would be.

She could get out of prison in late July or early August.

UPDATE: Casey Anthony will be released from jail on July 13th.

Jury Member From The Casey Anthony Trial Speaks Out

After the verdict on the Casey Anthony trial came out, all of the jury members remained silent and would not talk to the media. The reasoning probably had to do with the fact that they didn’t want to be harassed after the controversial decision.

Now Jennifer Ford, a member of the jury, is opening up to the media. She is the first juror to speak out.

“I did not say she was innocent,” Jennifer told ABC News

“I just said there was not enough evidence. If you cannot prove what the crime was, you cannot determine what the punishment should be.”

“Everyone wonders why we didn’t speak to the media right away. It was because we were sick to our stomach to get that verdict. We were crying, and not just the women. We weren’t ready [to comment]. We wanted to do it with integrity and not contribute to the sensationalism of the trial.”

While the case was quite depressing and heartbreaking, Jennifer claims to have enjoyed her time on the jury, mostly due to the people she met.

“They picked a great bunch of people, such high integrity. And there was high morale. We all joked. We are like a big group of cousins.”

No Justice For Caylee Anthony, Casey Anthony Found NOT GUILTY

What has to be one of the biggest miscarriages of justice Casey Anthony was just found NOT GUILTY of murdering her 2 year old daughter Caylee Anthony. With the evidence mounting against Casey people speculated it was a sure thing she would be found guilty. However, a five-man and seven-woman jury just found Casey not guilty of murder! They only found her guilty of four counts of providing false information to a law enforcement officer.

What the hell were the jurors listening to? Casey showed no reaction when the jury’s verdict was read but shortly after cried and hugged her attorney. If she had been found guilty she could have faced the death penalty. She will be sentenced this Thursday. She faces up to four years in prison for lying to police. We can only hope she gets the full sentence for that. However, since she has been locked up for three years this would be deducted from any sentence she gets.

Sad, no justice for poor Caylee……What do you think about this verdict? Are you as shocked as me?
