Nicole Richie’s Family Zoo Day

Nicole Richie and husband Joel Madden took their two children Harlow and Sparrow Madden to the zoo in Sydney, Australia today. The family appeared to be having a good time as they viewed the different animal exhibits. Richie and Sparrow even fed a giraffe with a very a long tongue.

The family are currently in Australia while Joel makes his debut as a reality TV judge on The Voice, alongside his fellow panellists Delta Goodrem, Seal and Keith Urban.

In an interview with The Sunday Mail, the 33-year-old hinted the family would relocate for a while.

’We are looking at schools and talking about maybe leasing a place for the next year,’ he told.

Nicole Richie & Joel Madden’s Family Beach Day

Nicole Richie and husband Joel Madden took their two tots Harlow and Sparrow to Malibu beach on Monday. The family looked absolutely adorable as they relaxed on a beach towel and played in the sand. Richie who was dressed in a orange pant-suit also had fun throwing a ball around with Madden.

Richie recently explained that a huge price tag does not influence her fashion choices.

“I don’t buy something because it looks good on a hanger and has a $50,000 hangtag on it,” Richie says, adding, “I shop in thrift stores all the time.”

Nicole Richie Spends Easter Sunday At The Park

Nicole Richie spent a sunny Easter day at a park with her four-year-old daughter Harlow. Harlow enjoyed running around and looking at the sculptures while Richie chatted up a friend.

Richie recently told InStyle UK she is “all about female empowerment” within the fashion industry.

“It’s amazing that there are so many female designers at the top of the industry right now,” she told the May edition of UK magazine InStyle. “I am all about female empowerment and I just love that women are in a place now where we’re working, creating and doing everything we love.”

Nicole Richie & Joel Madden Pick Up Their Cuties!

Nicole Richie and her husband Joel Madden picked up their four-year-old daughter Harlow and two-year-old son Sparrow from school in Los Angeles, Ca on Tuesday. Richie carried her two tots Valentine’s gifts while holding Sparrow’s hands. Madden held Harlow’s hand as she sucked on a lollipop.

Richie and Madden threw Harlow a Toy Story themed party for her birthday that passed in January. Her party was attended by 35 kids – including Rachel Zoe’s son Skyler, Tobey Maguire’s Children, Gwen Stefani’s children Kingston and Zuma Rossdale. Apparently, Harlow was so happy she started to cry.

“Harlow started crying when everyone sang happy birthday and Joel said she was crying tears of joy,” said an insider.

“Everyone had a blast and Joel and Nicole said it was their best kids party yet.”

Yummy Mummy On The Red Carpet

When it comes to a ‘yummy mummy’ it’s hard to go past Nicole Richie. The mother of two looked absolutely stunning at the Golden Globes last night. She was a vision in silver!

The 30 year old former reality TV star left Harlow Winter Kate Richie Madden and Sparrow James Midnight Madden at home and enjoyed glamming it up with the who’s who in Hollywood. She wore a floor length silver dress by Julien Macdonald and some sky high Jimmy Choo shoes. The budding fashion designer finished off the gorgeous outfit with a bag from her popular House of Harlow line. The up do was also a winner with the fashion critics. The combination lander her on many Golden Globe best dressed lists.

Life is super busy for Nicole and husband Joel Madden - who’s in the band Good Charlotte with his brother. They have two kids under five and several careers to juggle. But their son and daughter always come first. The family of four spend a lot of time together out of the spotlight. Nicole is very hands on - organizing their birthday parties, taking them to and from pre-school and arranging play dates with some of their famous friends.

She’s come a long way from the party girl who first shot to fame in the series The Simple Life. There were a few brushes with the law early on but she’s reinvented herself. She’s an established designer and fashion icon and it looks like she’s finally found her calling – being a Mom.

Nicole Richie Takes Harlow To Dance Class

Nicole Richie took daughter Harlow to ballet class in Los Angeles on Wednesday. Harlow who also takes Tap dancing lessons wore a black dance outfit as she held onto Richie’s hand. Richie wore a black sweater, short cut-off jeans paired with a Chanel bag and black boots.

The Accessories Council Excellence Awards recently named Richie its 2011 ‘Influencer of the Year.’ When talking about her personal style Richie admitted:

“It’s not that deep for me, It’s whatever I feel comfortable in at that time.”

Richie said her first style inspiration was her mom:

“When I was a little girl, my mom used to always get us matching dresses for everything—so I was wearing the poufy skirt version of whatever my mom was wearing,” she laughs before adding, “I had the worst, hairiest eyebrows and a big afro.”
