Getting Gorgeous Lips with Restylane® Silk

My mom and I recently had a great beauty day where we both got lip treatments with Restalyne® Silk! Mom is always complaining that she’s lost her cupid’s bow – she shows me photos when her lips were fuller and says she missed that. Mom was looking to recover some of her youthful plumpness but, for me, the Restalyne treatment helped me with something that has made me feel self-conscious for a while. I had uneven lips – it’s always been that way. The left side of my bottom lip isn’t balanced with the right side – it was asymmetrical. This gave my mouth an imbalanced look and it really bothered me. I never felt like I could wear red or dramatic lipstick because it would call attention to my mouth. So while my mom’s Restalyne® Silk treatment was to restore her lips, my treatment was more what I would call corrective. They focused the injections on plumping the area that was smaller then evening out my lips.

I felt a little bit of stinging when they did the injections – it wasn’t bad – no worse than when I get waxed or do other beauty treatments. What also was nice was that my mom went first so I could see what they did to her and her reaction to the treatment. She had no problems with her treatment, so I was ready to take my turn with no hesitation. Sure enough, it went great and after a little bit of tingling, I couldn’t tell by feeling that anything had been done – there was no residual discomfort.

I could see the full effect not too long after and I couldn’t believe it. My lips looked symmetrical for the first time in my life. There were perfectly balanced, plump without being “trouty” and, according to my husband, very, very sexy. I even went and got a tube of sinful lipstick and have been enjoying flashing a red lip now that I have confidence in my new lush and even lips. I could not be happier with the outcome. This treatment should last about six months and then I will be back for more.

Before I had the injections, I did my homework because I’m very health-conscious. I found that Restalyne® Silk was the first and only FDA-approved product that can be used for lip enhancement and to treat wrinkles around the mouth. The listed possible side effects were reasonable and didn’t alarm me and the only one I experienced was a little redness after the injections that went away within a few hours. My mom’s upper lip was a little tender for a couple of hours, then she was fine too.

Next time I think I will get a little more plumpness in my upper lip where this time I was more focused on balancing out my lips than enhancing them. I’m excited to see how long this lasts because, so far, the results are amazing. I couldn’t be happier and would recommend this to anyone who has thin lips, uneven lips like mine or who just wants to plump up their lips for a sexier pout.
